Hickling Broad

Owned and managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust, one of the outstanding jewels of the Norfolk Broads. Here you can enjoy beautiful landscapes with fantastic wildlife including the rare Swallowtail Butterfly, the impressive Emperor Dragonfly, Marsh Harriers and Goldeneyes.

Hickling Staithe

Maintained and operated by the Parish Council, the Staithe has dry and wet berth facilities with a launch ramp for boats up to 17 feet in length. Fishing is also encouraged and there is a small car park facility. For more information please visit their website.

St Mary Church

St Mary's Hickling

St Mary's Church dates from the thirteenth century, is built of stone and, outside, of knapped flint; having five bays in the nave and a ninety-foot tower housing five bells. The bells are regularly rung and are believed to be the fourth heaviest set of five in the world!.

Hickling Infant School

Run by the Swallowtail Federation of Church Schools, the school is for children aged four to eight years old. It serves the parishes of Hickling and Sea Palling with Waxham. After year 3 the children transfer to Stalham Middle School.

Hickling Barn

Hickling Barn is our magnificent eco-friendly community centre that offers a wide range of facilities including a large hall, snooker room, playing field and changing rooms. It currently has a maximum capacity of 60 due to Covid19 concerns.

Hickling Methodist Chapel

Hickling Methodist Church is situated on the main road through the village. Morning worship is fairly traditional, the evening is very different.
